UPDATE:  Sadly, Matt passed away on Tuesday, February 11, 2020 at 55 years old after a 19 month battle with Sarcoma

UPDATE:  Sadly, Laney also has passed.  She passed on Saturday, April 18, 2020 at 12 1/2

Less important update:  This page was originally designed for running the Pittsburgh Marathon in May 2020.  Due to COVID-19, that race has been cancelled.  I was already signed up for the Wineglass Marathon in Corning, NY, so now that will be run for the Sarcoma Foundation of America

My name is Ryan and I'm attempting to raise money for the Sarcoma Foundation of America by running the Wineglass Marathon in Corning, NY in October 2020.  Sarcoma has personally impacted me twice.

My stepdad Matt was diagnosed with soft tissue sarcoma (pleomorphic rhabdomyosarcoma) in July 2018 and in August had surgery to remove a large tumor in his right thigh. The cancer returned in his thigh with metastasis to the lungs. He has undergone chemotherapy and radiation and the cancer continues to spread to his spine and liver.

My friend Laney was diagnosed with osteosarcoma in October 2018. She had her right leg removed at the shoulder and has gone through multiple rounds of chemotherapy. Laney continues to take medication to stave off large tumors from growing, but remains a healthy, active pupper.
