SHA Class of 1979 Memorial Scholarship Campaign

How Your Support Makes a Difference

SHA's Mission is Important

SHA graduates young women with intellectual preparedness, spiritual grounding, commitment to service and the leadership skills necessary to have a positive impact on the world.

The scholarships funded by our endowment will honor the memory of our classmates and loved ones & will make a SHA education possible for needy and worthy young women for years to come.

Thank you for your support!

The class of 1979 would like to establish an endowment that funds scholarships to SHA students in perpetuity in memory of our classmates who have passed away and our parents & others who sacrificed to make our SHA education possible.

Thank you for the laughter and good times we shared:

What is an endowed scholarship and how does it differ from a traditional scholarship?

Unlike a traditional scholarship, which runs out of funding after the scholarship is awarded, endowed scholarships are awarded to students in perpetuity. For our class endowed scholarship, Sacred Heart will prudently invest the funds we raise (the principal) and preserve it to grow over time. Only the interest earned will be used to fund scholarships. As a result, our endowed scholarship will create a permanent funding source that will grow over time and provide scholarships to deserving young women for years to come.

Have other SHA graduating classes endowed scholarships?

A few other classes have endowed scholarships. But, according to Sacred Heart, our goal is significantly higher and if we reach it, our scholarship will be the first-of-its-kind. It will challenge graduating classes to think differently regarding what’s possible when it comes to philanthropy and reunion class gift. The class of 1979 will be a catalyst for change!
