Hospicare & Palliative Care Services

A Statement Regarding the 2022 Women Swimmin’ for Hospicare

We are back! And COVID safety is still important to us. This year, which marks the 19th annual Women Swimmin' for Hospicare swim, we are back to an across-the-lake swim, with busses used to transport swimmers to the starting place at Bolton Point. Bus passengers will be required to wear masks.

With the safety of our participants and volunteers the top priority, and following guidance from the CDC and state and local authorities, we are relying on several key groups of advisors and decision-makers to assist with all aspects of the event:

  • A 12-member planning committee that includes Hospicare board members, swimmers, boaters, and volunteers who collectively have over 200 years of experience with Women Swimmin’;
  • A Safety committee comprised of several long-serving volunteers, members of the Kayak Safety Team, a Board member and a swimmer;
  • The Hospicare COVID Committee, which meets twice a month to review all plans for activities and events, including clinical and non-clinical endeavors;
  • The Hospicare staff who are responsible for implementation of all decisions

As you might imagine, planning an event as large as Women Swimmin’ for Hospicare is a year-round endeavor, even in non-pandemic times! We commit to you that we will do the best we can to create an event that safeguards our swimmers and volunteers, allows for a ton of community fun, and adheres to safety regulations.
