How Your Support Makes a Difference

Your generous donation ensures our ability to care for all of these important animals — to save and preserve their future, and educate our community in the process.

Contributions, of any amount, help us maintain the important work happening here at the zoo. From excellent animal care and conservation to engaging guest experiences and public education, we rely on your help to implement our important mission.

Please send what you can to ensure the continued care and protection of some of the most vulnerable species on the planet.

At the Rosamond Gifford Zoo, when we say "animal welfare," we are not just talking about daily nourishment, health and engagement – we are also referring to the physical environment in which our animals live day to day. We are always exploring and finding new ways to enhance and improve the habitats of the many species in our care, and your generous donations allow us to do just that!

As an accredited member of the Association of Zoos and Aquariums (AZA), the Rosamond Gifford Zoo is held to the highest standards of animal care and welfare. As such, we are committed to finding new ways to grow and improve. We are constantly innovating and developing ideas for future habitat renovations and expansions – all of which could some day come to fruition with the support of our zoo family.

One such concept currently under consideration is the expansion of the snow leopard exhibit on the Wildlife Trail, which includes the creation of a “snow leopard overpass.” Just like domestic cats, wild cats love to climb to higher elevations to gain a greater vantage point. The overpass would enable our snow leopards to lounge on or walk across an overhead bridge from their existing habitat to the new, expanded exhibit throughout the day.

And, guests would benefit from this immersive experience as well. Imagine watching a snow leopard walking directly overhead as they move from one section of their exhibit to another! The new habitat would give our snow leopards more room to explore, while giving guests a unique perspective and one-of-a-kind view of these awe-inspiring apex predators.

In addition, this exhibit expansion would incorporate a training area, providing guests with an incredible opportunity to witness our animal care staff train snow leopards to participate in their own health care through positive reinforcement. YOUR SUPPORT COULD MAKE THIS  HAPPEN!

The snow leopard overpass is just one example of how our zoo can further improve the habitats – and in turn, the welfare – of the species in our care, but we can’t do it without your help!

YOUR GIFT TODAY contributes consistent support for the animals we are entrusted to protect and care for. With the support of our donors, we can provide unparalleled care and exhibit improvements – not just for our snow leopards, but for all the incredible species at our zoo!

We thank you for your gift and invite you to visit us soon, so you can see firsthand how we live "Conservation in Action" every day!

With deep gratitude,
