No matter what distance you cover, each step you take is one step closer to a World Without Colorectal Cancer™.

Greetings, I was recently added to the Colon Cancer Foundation's 2023 TCS New York City marathon team.  As you may know in May of 2019, I was diagnosed with Colon Cancer.  I went through surgery and 6 months of chemo.  In June 2020, I had a hysterectomy and a 1/3 inch lesion of colon cancer was found in one ovary.  Since that time, my doctors suggested surveillance, so bloodwork and CT scans are conducted on a regular basis.  To date, I continue to be Blessed with the status of - No Evidence of Disease!!  My doctors have indicated that my marathon running, triathlons and other physical activity are all helping to keep me healthy and cancer free.

Sadly, according to the current numbers of the American Cancer Society, patients with Colon Cancer that has spread to distant parts of the body have a 13% chance of surviving 5 years.  Somehow, I am one of the lucky ones.  Please consider making a donation to the Colon Cancer Foundation/2023 TCS New York marathon charity team on my behalf.  I want to try to do my part to raise awareness and money to help fighting this disease.  Also, don't forget to have your Colonscopy or other screening per your medical team!
