The Little Colonials - Colonial Early Education Program

At the Colonial Early Education Program at Colwyck (CEEP) children come to school to engage in learning, play, and become curious individuals!

The Little Colonials walk for acceptance and awareness for our autistic friends, honoring their neurodiversity.  We have children with a various disabilities and abilities, including autism spectrum disorder, who learn and play along with students without disabilities.

1 in 36 children are diagnosed with Autism.

Our school family walks together on this important day to advocate for acceptance and awareness!

Some of the reasons we walk are....
...  so four year old student is finally able to use spoken language to tell his mom ' I love you'.

...so a student can make a close friend  to engage in play with other kids .

...so a wild child who seems like he can never stop moving can learn how to calm/regulate his body to learn and play in his own way.

...so a four year old girl can learn to independently manage taking on/off her jacket and backpack even though she doesn't use spoken language yet .

...so a three year old student can finally drink out of a different cup than he does every single day without feeling overwhelmed.
