Join us for the second annual Guardian Games on Saturday, November 8, 2025! Guardian Games will take place during Special Olympics Northern California’s Fall Games Championship at UC Davis. Fall Games brings together soccer athletes from across the region to compete in exciting championship match-ups to complete the Special Olympics NorCal soccer season.
Guardian Games is a unique opportunity to bring our community together with Special Olympics athletes for a fun and active experience. Teams of eight including business and community leaders, two Special Olympics NorCal athletes and one Law Enforcement Torch Run (LETR) representative will compete in a variety of sports and activities, such as tug-of-war, relay races, football throwing competitions, and more.
Law enforcement supports Special Olympics NorCal throughout the year and local personnel serve as the “Guardians of the Flame” for the Special Olympics Torch. If you are a current Law Enforcement Torch Run partner or Special Olympics Northern California Athlete, please email Morgan Mariano at MorganM@sonc.org to register.
Participants are also invited to raise funds – and earn cool incentive rewards, too! We've created some helpful fundraising tools which will make it easy for you to raise funds that will be added below.
There are a variety of sponsorship/registration opportunities and ways to be a part of the games. We look forward to having you there!
Register today and make a difference for thousands of children and adults with intellectual disabilities as we join the playing field together!
Your participation will directly support our inclusive sports, health, schools and leadership programs for children and adults with intellectual disabilities.
Through Special Olympics, our athletes build friendships, overcome obstacles and are empowered to realize their full potential. Success on the field leads to more opportunities in daily life as the community learns about the unique abilities and contributions of our athletes. All Special Olympics programs are provided at no cost to the athletes and their families thanks to your support.
You'll have the opportunity to compete alongside Special Olympics athletes, meet other community leaders and raise funds and awareness for Special Olympics which provides sports, health, educational and athlete leadership programming at no cost to the athlete or their family.
You'll have a blast and feel good knowing that the funds you raise will help change lives of children and adults with intellectual disabilities.
