Why Participate?

The Walk for Autism is the largest event for families affected by autism in Delaware and 2026 marks the 20TH YEAR! In 2006, the incidence of autism was 1 in 110 and now it's 1 in 31! The autism community needs support now more than ever.

Autism Delaware is committed to supporting those affected by autism for their lifetime. To do this we need your participation. Join or start a team, or donate. Your participation makes a difference in the lives of local families.

How Your Support Makes a Difference

Funds raised through the Walk for Autism help Autism Delaware provide vital programs and services. Our two largest programs are our Family Services and our Adult Services.

We provide support for families with new autism diagnoses and families who need ongoing support through two programs, our Autism Care Team (ACT) program and our Family Navigation program. In both programs, our dedicated Family Navigators and Family Support Providers help families assess needs and design plans for children diagnosed with autism, focusing on how to put strategies and recommendations into action.

Our adult services are community-based and dedicated to helping adults with ASD find employment, volunteer opportunities, and other quality of life pursuits, and then supporting them in those activities to ensure their success. The program is a collaborative process that includes the individual served, families, our staff, and all other support staff members, to develop and implement a plan that addresses the individual’s support needs and meet individual goals.
