About AGAT Foundation Charity Classic 2023

Join us on August 23, 2022 at Country Hills Golf Club!

We are excited to announce that as of January 2022, the AGAT Foundation generously assumed leadership and administrative support in hosting the existing Alberta Cancer Foundation Golf Classic.

The AGAT Foundation looks forward to continuing the legacy established by all of the incredible years in the past and will continue to support Albertans and their families facing cancer through Alberta Cancer Foundation's Patient Financial Assistance Program.

In 2016, the longstanding Don LaBerge Memorial Golf Classic joined forces with Golf for a Cure in
memory of Janice E. Crist, to raise $50,000 for Albertans facing cancer. Together, these tournaments partnered with the Alberta Cancer Foundation to kick off the 1st Annual Alberta Cancer Foundation Golf Classic in 2017. With the help of our supporters and generous donors, $1.3 Million in net proceeds have been raised for the Patient Financial Assistance Program and Patient Navigator Program since the tournament’s inception. Thank you for your support!

AGAT Labs has generously offered to provide a match for donations towards this event. To make an even bigger impact with your donation, please click "donate" on the top right of this page or connect with Don directly.

For sponsorship, in-kind donation, golfer registration or auction support, please contact Don Wood at dwood@agat.com or visit the official website HERE (HYPERLINK).

We invite you to join us on August 23, 2022 at the Country Hills Golf Club, as a corporate partner, donor or foursome. Together, we have the power to change lives, one swing at a time.

Dollars at Work - Patient Financial Assistance Program

Cancer can have a huge strain on finances. Sometimes people opt out of therapy if they can’t afford to take time off work or they are often forced to cash in their RRSPs or use up their savings. Long-term disability insurance typically only makes up 60 per cent of a paycheque. Applying for any governmental financial assistance can take up to six months, and some of those funding options only last a few months. Meanwhile the bills pile up and some families are forced to declare bankruptcy, all on top of one member’s failing health. The costs that go along with the disease can sometimes be so overwhelming that a patient will decide not to have life-saving therapy like a transplant and instead opt to save travel costs by choosing a lesser treatment.
