Thank you for registering for THE HUNT and supporting Big Brothers Big Sisters of Dane County! We are excited to have you join us for our county-wide scavenger hunt April 25th-May 18th. There is a lot of important information that will help you make the most of your participation, so please take 5 minutes now to read this email in its entirety.

5 Steps to Get Started and Be Successful on THE HUNT

STEP 1: Start your Team and Recruit your Friends!

Congrats–you are registered! If you didn't already join or create a team, please do so now by clicking join an existing team or create your own on your OneCause page. You can have up to 6 adults on your team, so feel free to invite others to join you(or create their own team).

STEP 2: Download GooseChase (scavenger hunt app) on your mobile device.

Find the GooseChase iOS or Android app, and download on the device you’ll be using during THE HUNT. Once you’re in GooseChase, find THE HUNT by using game code H7IG43 or by searching for BBBS Dane County THE HUNT 2025. (make sure you are typing an I in the middle and not a 1 or an L) If you have any issues finding your team in Goosechase or need any help, please contact Bethany Ordaz at bordaz@bbbsmadison.org.

STEP 3: Pick-up your T-shirt and materials.

Stop by our office (2059 Atwood Avenue, 4th Floor) and pick up your goodie bag, which includes a free T-shirt and other goodies to help you on THE HUNT. Pick up times are April 23rd 12:00-1:00pm and 4:30-6pm and April 24th 12:00pm-1:00pm. You can earn 20 points on THE HUNT just for picking up your goodie bags!

STEP 4: Get HUNTing April 25th-May 18th!

Submitting Missions: Missions will be available in the GooseChase app starting Friday, April 25th at 4:00pm, with new Missions released throughout THE HUNT. Anyone on the team can submit a Mission, and not all team members need to be together to complete the Missions. Please play fair and only submit photos and videos taken during THE HUNT (this year)–no scrolling back in your camera roll! At least one team member should be in each photo or video you submit.

Scheduled Missions: Most Missions can be done anytime, but a few take place at a set time/location. Check out our Scheduled Missions Calendar for our special events and bonus point days.

Golden Pins: Each weekend starting May 2nd, we'll be releasing a limited-time Golden Pin Mission. A shiny bowling pin will be hidden somewhere around town, and the stakes are high--Golden Pin Missions are worth 50 points! You'll be notified about the Mission via the GooseChase app, so make sure your notifications are on.

STEP 5: Give Back and Have Fun!

Fundraising: The most impactful way to support BBBS is by asking friends and family to donate to your team. You can earn points for completing fundraising-specific Missions and reaching fundraising milestones (25 points for every $100, 50 points for every $500). Wanna maximize your points? Review the Scheduled Missions Calendar and fundraise strategically so your donations line up with Fundraising Challenge days.

Be Safe, Be Kind, and Have Fun: As you head out HUNTing, just a reminder to be a good community member. Follow all rules and regulations in the spaces you visit. Check business hours, where applicable. Have fun, but make sure THE HUNT doesn't interfere with the enjoyment of others around you. Thanks for proudly representing BBBS in our community!
