Believe…

in God’s mercies!

Patricia Aguilar

No history of cancer in my family, but after a biopsy, I was given the words no one wants to hear “YOU HAVE CANCER.” One month after that, one — two lumps multiplied, and I had 4-5 new lumps. I felt like every time they poked me and did a biopsy, it would just wake up other tumors, and it went from a stage 1 cancer to a stage 3.

I had a double mastectomy and removal of 19 lymph nodes. I’m glad we made that decision because the lab confirmed cancer cells started in the other breast. I received six months of Chemo and lost my hair, eyebrows, and eyelashes within six days after the first round. I had daily radiation for two months. It was hard, but I had people with faith, prayer, and strength surrounding me and always showing love and support. They embraced me with words of Faith in God – that helped me pull through!! I am here to tell you there’s hope for you. You will get through this, and you are NOT alone!

Seven years later, and after 14 surgeries, I am happy to say I am here. I may not be completely perfect. I am alive and strong and so thankful to God for his mercies and each new morning.
