My life is a testimony to strength, faith, and perseverance. Born in East Los Angeles in 1975, I have called Riverside home with my husband of 18 years, Andy Cabrera. Through every season of life, I have learned to move forward with grace, purpose, and hope. I enjoy Aquamotion and Zumba classes and am involved with the Pink Ribbon Place, where I find purpose in supporting and uplifting others. I strive to live each day with gratitude, strength, and hope.
My journey has tested my faith and resilience in ways I never imagined. In September 2021, the same year a 100-foot tree crashed through my home, I was diagnosed with Stage 4 Diffuse Large B-Cell Lymphoma. Over the next three years, I underwent treatment at City of Hope, including fifteen rounds of chemotherapy and CAR T-cell therapy. Through it all, I held fast to courage, faith, and determination.
Although my cancer journey still brings health challenges, I have never allowed hardship to define me. I hope my story encourages others facing difficult trials to keep believing. Even in pain, hope rises, faith carries us, and God’s love gives us strength to move forward one step at a time.
