I was diagnosed with stage 3 Hodgkin’s Lymphoma at just 19 years old. I had just finished my first year of college and had to move home to be close to family and hospitals for my treatment. I did IVF treatments to preserve my eggs in case the chemotherapy made me infertile. Soon after, I started chemotherapy; I did 12 rounds. I finished chemo in December of 2024 and had a cancer-free scan. Unfortunately, in July of 2025, I found out I had relapsed.
Treatment looked different this time because I needed a bone marrow transplant after another 8 rounds of chemotherapy. I had my transplant at City of Hope Duarte. My transplant was the hardest thing I’ve ever done. I was in the hospital for 4 weeks, starting with 7 straight long days of chemo. My Rebirthday (getting my stem cells back) was on the 8th day, then three weeks of blood and platelet transfusions with close monitoring.
Through this whole journey, the one thing that kept me calm was God’s love and His healing hands around me. I am forever and extremely thankful to my family and boyfriend, who stuck by my side through it all.
