My name is Cindy Curtis. I live in Riverside with my husband and our three children.
In October 2023, I was diagnosed with invasive ductal carcinoma. My treatment included surgery, chemotherapy, radiation, and ongoing medication. Because my cancer was aggressive, I will continue taking daily medication for the next 10 years to reduce the risk of recurrence and remain committed to living as healthfully as possible.
I like to call cancer survivors strong because we often do not realize how resilient we truly are until being strong is the only choice we have.
The thought of growing old with my husband, seeing my children into adulthood, and being there for them made me discover a strength I never knew I had.
One day at a time, it is possible not only to survive but also to thrive and embrace a new life again.
