Believe…

in Living a Healthy Life.

Darlene Duran

At 36, I thought I was in good health. I was eating well, exercising, and taking care of myself. The last thing I ever expected to hear was “You have breast cancer,” but I did, and it changed my entire world.

I underwent four months of chemotherapy, eight surgeries, and countless appointments. It made me realize that cancer is not prejudiced; it doesn’t care about your age, gender, or race. It was a long, hard battle, and now I understand there were things I needed to change in my daily life.

Now I can honestly say I eat healthy and exercise to prevent cancer, and here I am, living proof that this disease can be beaten, 15 years later.
