I was diagnosed with Pre B-Cell Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia (ALL) on February 7, 2022, after weeks of unexplained bruising, fatigue, night sweats, and red spots on my skin. What began as a visit to the doctor quickly became an emergency hospitalization, a cancer diagnosis, and immediate chemotherapy.
My journey has included countless treatments, a seizure, and pancreatitis caused by chemotherapy, remission, relapse, and a bone marrow transplant on May 23, 2023, with my sister as my perfect 10/10 donor. Today, more than three years later, I continue to battle chronic graft-versus-host disease affecting my lungs and eyes while receiving ongoing treatments every week.
Through every setback, I have chosen to keep fighting.
Megan’s Wings has been a tremendous blessing to my family. Their help with gas cards, rent, and even giving us the best Christmas we’ve ever had lifted an enormous burden during our worst days; their kindness reminded us that we were never alone.
My journey isn’t over, but every day I choose hope, faith, and perseverance. Cancer has changed my life, but it has never defined who I am.
