Believe…

in Dreams, Strength, and Love

Kendrick Haynes

Kendrick began experiencing night sweats, swollen hands, and nonstop crying. His family rushed him to the emergency room, and within an hour, they received the devastating news: Kendrick had leukemia.

A once playful little boy who loved riding his bike, exploring the world around him, and making everyone smile was diagnosed at just 3 years old. Kendrick was immediately transferred to Loma Linda Children’s Hospital, where he began an intense battle against cancer. He spent six months in the hospital and later required a bone marrow transplant, extending his treatment journey.

The diagnosis impacted every aspect of family life as they adjusted to countless medical appointments and challenges. Despite starting school later than other children, Kendrick worked hard to keep up and never gave up.

At 13, Kendrick continues to inspire those around him with his determination, kindness, and love of soccer. One highlight of his journey was meeting soccer legend Lionel Messi through the Childhood Cancer Foundation. Shaking Messi’s hand was a dream come true for a boy who hopes to become a soccer player someday.

Through every challenge, Kendrick has shown that with strength, love, and support, anything is possible.
