I am making a difference with my miles!

In 2020 I was diagnosed with Stage 1-A1 ovarian cancer. Early detection saved me, running healed me!  There is no early detection test or screen for ovarian cancer.  Many are even misdiagnosed leading to late state diagnosis and poor prognosis.  I'm focusing my love of running on completing my first marathon - to make a difference, spread awareness and remind us all that we can do hard things.  

This year, I'm joining forces with the NATIONAL OVARIAN CANCER COALITION as a member of NOCC TEAM TEAL and will run in the 2024 BMW Berlin Marathon to raise funding for National Ovarian Cancer Coalition. My support and miles will help improve the lives of women, families and communities touched by ovarian cancer but I need your help. Please consider making a tax-deductible donation today. I hope that by running the Berlin Marathon, I can show someone newly diagnosed that there is hope, and they can get through treatment, it's also a reminder that I'm stronger than cancer. 

Running 26.2 miles will not be easy, but knowing its for a greater purpose will get me through! 

Your support will help fund critical research to find an early detection test, as well as education & awareness initiatives and quality of life resources to help those in treatment - including meal delivery, professional counseling, peer to peer support groups, wellness retreats and financial assistance to those in need. Every dollar truly makes a difference!! I have committed to raising at least $4000 to recognize 4 year fight since hearing those dreadful words "you have cancer."

In this year of great challenges, one even greater challenge remains, saving more lives from ovarian cancer. Dollars raised for the NOCC support national programs and local market initiatives to heighten awareness of the subtle signs and symptoms of ovarian cancer, assist newly-diagnosed patients throughout the country, provide ongoing support to caregivers, and advocate for the advancement of ovarian cancer research.
