Bounce Back from Cancer™

My mom has been fighting her fight against cancer for the past 4 years. She is a trooper! She never complains about what happened to her, or asks why she's in the position that she's in; in fact, my mom is the most positive, optimistic cancer patient you'll ever meet. There are many reasons for that to which I attribute primarily to her unwavering faith in God. Her faith has given her peace beyond measure and the strength and courage to fight this disease head on. Secondly, I attribute her fierce, mind-blowing attitude to her specific situation to the amazing care that she has received just minutes from our house at the Miami Cancer Institute. From day one, MCI has put there all into her full recovery... and they're not done yet! Every year MCI hosts the Bounce Back from Cancer event in March. It is a walk across Miami spanning 14.2 miles all the way from Baptist hospital to Biscayne Bay boulevard outside of the Miami Heat's stadium. The reason I love it is because it combines two of the most instrumental things in my family's life: basketball and the fight against cancer. Take a look at the amazing video the Institute has put together about the relationship that my mom's fight has had on our family and my basketball journey.  Cristy's Cancer Crushers dribbles this year on March 15 to do our very best in putting an end to the devastation that a disease like Cancer has on our world. It is no secret that almost everybody has been, is, or unfortunately will be effected by cancer in their lifetime... so join us! Join us in helping one of the best cancer care centers fight! ABOUT BOUNCE BACK FROM CANCER^TM
The community-wide Bounce Back from Cancer^TM event will take to the streets of Miami on Saturday, March 15, 2025.  Participants can join the 14.2 mile “Bounce Back Challenge” by dribbling or walking from Baptist Health Miami Cancer Institute in Kendall to the Kaseya Center in downtown Miami, or the 2 mile “Bounce Back from Cancer” from The Underline's Brickell Backyard to the Kaseya Center. So lace up your shoes, grab your basketball and let’s have a great time!
