Tell us about his/her battle with colorectal cancer. Joseph Artabane was diagnosed with colorectal cancer in 2009. He won his fight against the disease but was left scarred after a complication during his colon reconstruction surgery. Overtime a combination of health issues from a weak heart, kidney disease and diabetes claimed his quality of life and ultimately ended with his recent death.
How does he/she inspire you in your life today? Joseph's life is a story of perseverance. He lost his father at the young age of 7. The oldest of three children he had to take a mature role in his family that came from humble means. Paying his way through college and law school he became successful at his craft and ultimately started his own firm. He was the proud father of 3 boys who he loved dearly and supported throughout their lives. Upon his illness he fought to extend his life in order to be present in his sons major life events.
What made him/her happy? Joe was a lover of wine, cigars and golf. Some would say Joe enjoyed the good life.
