12th Annual Century Ride 2023

 Opportunities, like the Century Ride, are near and dear to my heart.  When I was 12 years old, I was struck by a motorcycle and broke both legs; in multiple places. My recovery journey took over 6 years with nearly a year before I could walk again unassisted. Over that time I had 16 operations and 3 body casts to combat the effects of injuries sustained that day. 

It was the help of others, like UHCC, that assisted my parents in coping with the challenges and immense cost of healthcare, recovery, therapy and wellbeing. It was also my introduction to cycling as therapy vs a means to get around my neighborhood.  

This journey also became an inspiration to become a cycling instructor and to participate in bike marathons like the Century Ride. 

For the past 20 years, I've taught Spinning and cycling in the Philadelphia area; sharing my story of determination to my class members from first-timers to advanced riders
