Chefs Cycle is a fundraising endurance event featuring award-winning chefs and other members of the culinary community (full disclosure, I am not a chef) fighting hunger outside the kitchen. For the past five years, Chefs Cycle has engaged such culinary talents and others who want to push their limits while raising funds and awareness in support of No Kid Hungry. While cycling has been put on hold this year, feeding children has not.

America’s kids need us. Even in normal times, too many kids in our country don't have the food they need to thrive. Now with coronavirus pandemic at hand, 1 in 4 children could face hunger. With school closures nationwide, millions of vulnerable children are losing the school meals they depend on. For some, it’s the only food they’ll receive in a given day. Through the non-profit organization Share Our Strength's No Kid Hungry campaign, emphasis has been placed on supporting programs such as the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) to support food budgets of needy families, supplying grant funding to schools and community groups that are feeding children and finally, and assisting restaurants that are also getting food to children during the pandemic.

No kid in this country should grow up hungry, especially in these unusual and burdensome circumstances for many. If you have the means currently, I encourage you donate to the No Kid Hungry campaign using the button on right.
