I have always wanted to run a half marathon, but being able to run the NYC Half Marathon for Comfort Zone Camp means that much more to me!
Who knew I'd decide to run a half marathon, but to make it even more exciting I am participating in the United Airlines NYC Half Marathon! Aside from the whole running aspect of the race, I am fundraising to give grieving children (like myself) free access to Comfort Zone Camp programing, so they can learn how to cope like I did.
Comfort Zone Camp truly changed my entire life. It's another part of me. It's a part of my personality. I didn't just gain friends, but a whole family. My CZC family has helped me live a better life since I was 7 years old, just after my dad passed away. If I can give just one child the opportunity to make a family like I did, I know it wouldn't just mean the world to me, but to that grieving child too.
I know while running this race my dad will be by my side. He will push me to run those 13.1 miles.
1 in 13 children in the U.S. will experience the death of a parent or sibling by the age of 18, and I was one of those children. Every step taken and every dollar raised brings CZC closer to giving more grieving children hope. Together you can help me provide grief relief to the 5.6 million grieving children in the United States.
