Course Information:
Lake Rebecca Park is a prime location and we are thankful to Three Rivers Parks for supporting us in this event. Our starting location has ample parking, a shelter to gather before and after your event, running water and flush toilets, and most importantly a wide, flat paved course that is fully accessible for walkers, wheel chairs, and strollers. Several people can walk abreast. Enjoy changing scenery along the way as the wooded trail is stunning during the fall season.

Why Participate?

Our Herd has a Challenge for you!

During a 45-minute class with a client, our therapy horses walk 3-4 miles. They do this multiple times each week, throughout the year. They challenge you to run, walk or stroll the same distance in support of the very important work they do at We Can Ride.

We honor the memory of a very special therapy horse, Derby. Derby had a long and love-filled life. He spent his younger years as a stand-out trail horse for his mom, leading others who were nervous through challenging terrain. When he joined We Can Ride in 2018, he did the same for us. His even temperament and gentle spirit calmed even the most uncertain clients.

[A special moment for me] was working with Sarah, who is in a motorized wheelchair, and Derby, our oldest horse, was gentle and calm and allowed Sarah to lead him around the ring. He also stood close enough for Sarah to help with some grooming--she knows all the names of all the brushes! Derby taught me you're never too old to make a difference and Sarah taught me your happiness and joy come from within, regardless of our situation in life,"

-Kris, We Can Ride volunteer

At the age of 31 Derby let us know that he was ready to go, and passed away peacefully on the farm surrounded by loved ones both horse and human.

How Your Support Makes a Difference

We Can Ride, Minnesota's oldest and largest therapeutic riding center, is proud to be in our 43rd year of service. During that time, we have served over 6,000 families.

The horse human connection is a powerful one. Imagine...many of our clients live their daily lives in a world ill-suited to their needs. Access that many of us take for granted is a daily struggle.

Suddenly, they are atop a 1,000 lb animal, working as a team. Maybe they're a kid that now had something exciting to share with their friends and teachers at school.

Will you help ensure that we can continue our legacy of service? We're all on the same team, after all!

Thank you for your support!
