Impacting the World for Christ...

Hello! My name is Olivia Matthes, and I am a junior at Des Moines Christian High School. I have attended DMCS all of my life, allowing me to go on multiple missions trips, including Honduras ‘19 and Dominican Republic ‘18. These trips are easily my best high school memories thus far. I have become extremely passionate about my spiritual gift of love, that can be so easily exercised on these trips! God has placed a passion for love in my heart ever since I was little. Seeing people hurt, unloved, and in need of a savior is definitely the thing that breaks my heart the most. The solution to these issues is my sole purpose for traveling to Honduras this upcoming year! Not for my self, but so that Christ’s glory can be revealed through me. I desperately want to love others, giving them abundant attention, and showing them the only path to fulfillment and true joy, Jesus Christ. There is absolutely nothing else that I have been involved in my past sixteen years of life that makes me feel more on purpose than this trip each year. Not only does this trip feel incredibly right, but also I am able to excerise my God-given abilities, and love people on the highest level I can, which is showing them the TRUE meaning of life. God is love!!
