My name is Michael Caruso Davis, I am 17 years old, and I have been battling Cystic Fibrosis (CF) all my life. Despite having CF, I continue to challenge myself both physically and mentally to raise awareness and funds for the Boomer Esiason Foundation (BEF). I do this for my health as well as to show others that CF does not define us. I hope to motivate those with CF and without to stay active. I’ve done multiple half marathons, 40-mile bike ride, sprint triathlons, and in October of 2019, I became the youngest person with CF to complete a full marathon which was the Chicago Marathon.
Due to Covid-19, all events are canceled which also has an impact on fundraising for foundations like BEF. I decided to challenge myself to an Olympic Triathlon in LBI, NJ on August 9, 2020 to raise awareness and funds for BEF to support their efforts in helping the CF community. Alongside Jay Asparro and Joey “JD” Dente, we will be swimming .9 miles in the bay, riding 25 miles on the bike, wrapped up by a 6.2 mile run. I appreciate your continued support in my events to bring awareness around Cystic Fibrosis and thank you for your donation.
