Grand River Founders Walk

Frequently Asked Questions

Please review the questions and answers below regarding this event.

Where should I park?

Parking is located at the park. Please follow the signage. Leave yourself time to park and walk to the event location.

What do I need to bring with me to the event?

Dress for the weather, and bring a lawn chair. Where possible, help us reduce contact at this year's event by mailing cash and cheques directly to the National Office at:

20 Erb Street, Suite 801
Waterloo, ON   N2L 1T2

When mailing in cash and cheque, make sure to include a list of donors and contact information (if they would like a tax receipt only. This includes name, address, phone and email if applicable, as well as the amount of the donation). You should also include a note with your name, and that these funds were raised for the Founders Walk.

What time should I arrive?

Registration starts at 9:30 am, you may want to plan to arrive early for parking and registration.

What measures are in place this year to ensure safety amid the COVID-19 pandemic?

Our event committee is closely monitoring recommendations, as well as receiving updated information from the National Office regularly. Some considerations include:

  • Our volunteers will be wearing face masks, and we encourage you to do the same
  • We are encouraging registration to be contactless. Please do your best to register and fundraise online, or mail cash and cheque directly to the National Office. If this is not possible, our volunteers will receive your pledges while wearing gloves.
  • Food and beverage will not be provided this year, in an effort to reduce the risk of cross-contamination and contact.
