On January 7, 2021, our lives were forever altered, leaving an indelible void in our hearts. Dylan Jacob Buckner, an exceptional 18-year-old high school senior, blessed with numerous friends, outstanding academic achievements, and remarkable athletic talent as the quarterback of the football team, tragically ended his own life. The weight of the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, with its relentless uncertainty, extinguished 17 years' worth of aspirations and dreams. In honor of Dylan's memory and his unwavering commitment to aiding others, we established the Dylan Buckner Foundation.
The Dylan Buckner Foundation is dedicated to two primary goals. First, we aim to raise awareness that mental health is a disease just like any other, and it is crucial for individuals affected to seek help rather than suffer in silence. Second, we strive to provide financial support for innovative alternatives to traditional pharmaceutical treatments for depression.
Please join us on Friday, July 7th at 7pm at Techny Prairie Park and Fields for a 5K Glow Run (Walk) in support of the Dylan Buckner Foundation. 100% of funds raised will go to the Dylan Buckner Foundation to support mental health awareness and research.
We are thrilled to announce that this 5K Glow Run (Walk) will be the inaugural fundraising event for facilitated by the recently established DB7 Junior Board in support of the Dylan Buckner Foundation.
