Feeding Tomorrow, the Foundation of the Institute of Food Technologists, welcomes you to our annual Fun Run + Fitness fundraiser!
Ever since a small group of runners gathered at the Institute of Food Technologist’s 2001 annual meeting in an effort to get some exercise and raise funds for students, the Fun Run + Fitness has been an amazing opportunity to raise funds, join a community, and break a sweat!
Funds raised at the event support scholarships for students pursuing careers in the science of food.
Three Ways to Join 2022 Fun Run + Fitness
1 - Online! 6 weeks of Wellness Challenges
Our virtual event runs June 1 - July 13, 2022, and will feature wellness challenges that encourage you to stay active, eat nutritious food, and take care of yourself.
2 - On-Site at IFT FIRST! 5K Run/Walk or Yoga
Join us outside the main entrance of the McCormick Place South Building in Chicago on Monday, July 11, 2022, at 6:30am for a 5k run, 1-mile walk, or yoga followed by a celebratory afterparty, complete with goodies from our generous sponsors!
3 – Do Both!
The online wellness challenges will be a great way to prepare for the On-Site 5K Run/Walk or Yoga.
Join a team or raise funds on your own to help us reach our goal of raising $96,000 for student scholarships!

In 2021, Feeding Tomorrow as able to award 44 undergraduate and graduate scholarships totaling more than $91,000. With your support, we can award even more to deserving students pursuing their careers in the science of food.
Feeding Tomorrow is the Foundation of the Institute of Food Technologists (IFT). Each day, we work to raise both the awareness of and interest in the science of food as a desirable career path. By attracting, retaining, and celebrating the creative and innovative minds of future food scientists, we will ensure the world has the ability to feed a growing and diverse population.
