Throughout our nearly 170-year history, the YMCA of Greater Hartford has endured and persevered through many challenging times that have beset our communities from devastating weather events, the Great Depression, and wars. Today, we are facing another challenge together: the COVID-19 pandemic.
Since March 2020, we pivoted our resources to serve our communities and families who were greatly impacted by the pandemic. Our staff distributed hundreds of meals to families, provided quality childcare to children of front-line workers, held blood drives to ensure our hospitals were able to provide quality care, and provided a safe summer experience to hundreds of children. Since September, our facilities have been providing “virtual learning” opportunities to support working parents whose children are completing their schooling remotely
However, our beloved Y is facing a massive reduction in revenue having been closed for several months due to precautionary and mandated measures stemming from the pandemic. The resulting financial toll has been swift and severe. It’s challenged the Y’s ability to survive and sustain vital programs and services that our neighbors and staff rely upon.

100% of donations raised through our campaign stays in our community. When you donate to a specific YMCA branch within the YMCA of Greater Hartford, those funds will stay with that branch.
