Client Stories

Justice At Last has worked with many different survivors who have shared how our services have impacted their lives for the better. One illustration shared below with permission is of a male survivor of labor trafficking.

The trafficked person was able to obtain Continued Presence (a form of temporary immigration relief for survivors of human trafficking) and his T-Visa application was submitted and is being processed by U.S. Citizenship and Immigration, which trafficking victims to remain in the United States and leads to a pathway to permanent status.  Additionally, he received wrap-around case management support including:
  • Safety planning, crisis stabilization support and a referral to a traumatologist and behavioral health expert;
  • Access to California Victim Compensation (a program that reimburses for crime-related expenses and including lost wages);
  • Received public benefits that are available for foreign national survivors of human trafficking; and,
  • Secured safe and long-term housing that is located in a county where the trafficking did not occur.

As a result of the support from Justice At Last, this trafficked person currently has a stable job where he is earning a living wage, is taking English as a Second Language courses and, most importantly, is healing from the exploitation and moving forward with his life.

Thank you for your support!
