Girl Scouting is many, many things. It is a place for girls expand their horizons. It is where they can challenge themselves, to reach outside their comfort zone. It is a place where girls discover who they are, develop their confidence, and become strong and independent. It is an eternal sisterhood, where any who wish will always be welcome.
I have been a Girl Scout for 22 years, and I will continue to be a Girl Scout for the rest of my life. I have never felt more empowered as an individual than when I have been with Girl Scouts. This organization made me who I am and continues to power who I wish to be. I think every girl should get a chance to be part of our sisterhood of Girl Scouts!
Every year, Girl Scouts of Kentuckiana provides financial assistance to those who need it to cover the cost of membership and materials to start their Girl Scout journeys. This year, with many more families facing financial hardships than usual, funds to allow girls to join and continue in Girl Scouts are even more important. Due to social distancing measures, girls also had their major fundraiser for the year, Cookie sales, cut short.
Girl Scouts is a sisterhood of empowerment. We work to welcome all those who wish to join, no matter their circumstances. Please donate today! Any money you can give, be it $5 or $500, will directly fund girls and their Girl Scout journeys of becoming girls of courage, confidence and character.
This is the view girls see from the cat walk, one of the high ropes elements at Camp Pennyroyal. Any girl can experience this personal challenge that, once conquered, fills a girl with soaring confidence. This is one of the many opportunities made available to girls through scouting.
