2022 Run/Walk/Ride supporting Michael C. McHugh Memorial Fund

15,590 kids are diagnosed with cancer each year. Our goal is to run, walk and ride 1 mile to honor each and every child.
How Does it Work?
Run, walk or ride alone or with friends to raise awareness and funds to support families whose lives were permanently impacted by cancer. Mileage goals are based on your pledge to complete miles in the month of October. Track on your own or through the Strava App but no need to report mileage! Additional mileage can be reported to mcmstrong@gmail.com and we will update your pledge!
Step One:
Determine if you will run, walk or ride and how many miles you will complete over the month of October.
Decide if you want to do it alone or if you want to join/create a team. During registration you will be given the option to join an existing team or to start your own. If you start your own there are easy ways to reach out to your friends to join you!
Register! Registration is $25 per person ($15 will go toward your fundraising total) and includes a Milton Glows Gold soft cotton t-shirt. The maximum per family registration fee is $75. If your family will exceed this total please send an email to mcmstrong@gmail.com and we will help you register without exceeding the maximum.
Set a fundraising goal. Determine how much you think your friends and family will support you to complete your goal. There are VERY easy ways to email, text and use social media to ask your friends and family to help. You are in control of how and who you ask but it is as easy as clinking a few buttons!
Collect points and join the leaderboard by completing miles, raising money or even posting photos! WE will have prizes and activities throughout the month! Did you see that said PRIZES? Lots of prizes for kids, adults and teams!
Take a moment and appreciate what you are doing to help families when they need it most. Just getting involved and knowing more about childhood cancer makes a difference. YOU ARE MAKING A DIFFERENCE.
We do not want money to be a barrier to participation and we would be more than happy to help - if you want help please email mcmstrong@gmail.com.
The Michael C. McHugh Memorial Foundation (MCM Fund) supports families who have lost a child to enable them to afford funeral, memorial and non-medical end of life expenses. When families lose a child they should not have to make decisions about burial and cremation based solely on income. This decision is an incredibly difficult one and should be made based on the families’ traditions and beliefs. The MCM Fund helps families with children in hospice, or immediately after they have lost a child, to support their non-medical end-of-life decisions such as bereavement support as well as memorial and funeral expenses.
The MCM Fund was created in 2017 in honor of Michael C. McHugh, a Milton boy, who died after a 15-month battle with cancer at the age of 13. www.mcmstrong.org
