About Welcome Walk 2024

Welcome Walk 2024
Presented by Delta Air Lines

Join us in celebrating 16 years of impact on refugee girls' education! On Saturday, November 2, Global Village Project will host its annual Welcome Walk. The Walk represents our commitment to making Atlanta a refuge for refugees to live, learn, and thrive.

Over 300 people will gather to walk 5 miles from Clarkston to Decatur. Not ready to walk 5 miles? No worries! Our buses are available throughout the day to pick you up anywhere along the route and take you to the finish line celebration. Join students, parents, teachers, volunteers, and friends of GVP's mission as we seek to strengthen connections between communities.

Walking or donating to this event is not just about covering the miles; it's about making a tangible difference in the lives of our students.

Why Fundraise for the Welcome Walk?
The purpose of GVP's Welcome Walk is not only an event to welcome refugees, but it is a peer-to-peer fundraiser to raise critical funds for GVP to grow its mission and keep the school tuition-free for each student. Fundraising can be daunting, but it's much easier than you'd expect with the tools we provide for you. Visit our "Fundraising Tools & Resources Page" on the top banner for tips and tools. By setting up your fundraising page, YOU can help us reach our $125,000 fundraising goal!

What is a Peer-to-Peer Fundraiser?
A peer-to-peer fundraiser is a fundraising method nonprofits use in which individual supporters (YOU!) host personalized campaigns to collect donations from friends, family, and colleagues on behalf of the nonprofit.
