Join the Epilepsy Association of Western and Central PA (EAWCP) on Saturday, August 5, 2023 in person or virtually as we celebrate the 21st annual Family Fun Run/Walk for Epilepsy at FNB Field.
For participants joining us at FNB Field, registration and breakfast begins at 8:00 am and the 5k run/2 mi walk will begin for all participants at 9:30 am.
Mascots and local radio and television personalities will be on hand to lead the day’s festivities. It all begins with a run/walk course around City Island. Participants may then move on to a one-of-a-kind tailgate party where they can enjoy food and beverages donated by local sponsors.
All participants that raise $30.00 will receive a commemorative Epilepsy Awareness T-shirt. Additional prizes are awarded to each participant based on the amount of funds that they raise. Grand prizes are awarded to the top 3 highest fundraising Individuals and Teams.
All of the proceeds from this event will stay in western and central Pennsylvania to benefit our programs and supportive services. The EAWCP offers a summer camp program, virtual support groups, workshops, and education events. We also provide a free CareShare respite program, emergency medication assistance, high school scholarships, the Oscar Project (providing service dogs), help obtaining sleep/movement monitors and Project School Alert which educates students, teachers and faculty on how to recognize and respond to a person having a seizure. These programs are all aimed at supporting people living with seizures.
For more information, please contact the EAWCP events coordinator at 1-800-336-0301 or via email at pmaguire@eawcp.org.
One in 26 people will develop epilepsy in their lifetime. Please join us in supporting the ones that we know and love who have epilepsy/seizure disorder.
