23rd Annual Walk with the Heart of a Child supporting Children’s Heart Foundation

My son has congenital heart disease and just had his third open heart surgery.
In 2008, my mom passed away unexpectedly from a sudden heart attack at just 56 years old. Less than a month later we discovered my new baby had a congenital heart defect and within weeks my 5 month old son would have his first open heart surgery to repair the mitral valve and close a large VSD. He had his second surgery at 5 years old for aortic stenosis. For 12 years he thrived, grew, but the aortic stenosis returned as he grew and on January 30, 2026 he had his 3rd, and hopefully last, open heart surgery. We are incredibly grateful to the amazing nurses, his incredible cardiologist who knows his so well after 17 years of care, and the phenomenal surgeon who has repaired his growing heart 3 times. This cause is truly close for our family.
