John R. Elliott HERO Walk & Fun Run 2023

Thank you for your support of the John R. Elliott HERO Campaign for Designated Drivers.

This past April of 2023 marked 10 years since Matthew Uhl was struck and killed by a drunk driver while attending college at Rowan University. Matthew was a loving son, brother, uncle, friend, fraternity brother, and boyfriend. His charming personality, his contagious laugh, and mega-watt smile lit up any room that he entered. He was hard working, creative, and driven but unfortunately was only able to leave his large mark in 22 years upon this earth. Matt was a month shy of graduating college and had so many dreams and goals he wanted to accomplish. While he may not be here now to continue carrying out his goals, we continue to carry on the legacy he began to build by continuing to share his story and by living in the way he would have.

Matt is missed always by his father, mother, sister, brother, nieces, nephews, friends, college girlfriend, and so many other lives he may never have known he touched. Losing Matt ten years ago was a loss that there are no words to describe. As many of those who have lost loved ones can relate to, it is hard to comprehend that ten years have gone by when the wounds at times still feel so fresh. The HERO Campaign has create a beautiful space for us to share in our losses and to support and guide one another through the insufferable times.

Please help us to spread the message of the Hero Campaign and help us to honor one of the greatest souls we've ever known. Please donate to our cause and please remember to always have a designated driver!
