The Austin Hatcher Foundation for Pediatric Cancer’s Teen Ambassador Program (TAP) is designed to engage high school students with the Foundation’s patient families, furthering AHF's mission to erase the effects of pediatric cancer. The Hit It for Hatch series was created by teen ambassadors who share a love for sports, as a creative way for kids and adults to get involved in a good cause, fundraise and bring more awareness to the work of the Austin Hatcher Foundation.
Building on the success of the Hit It for Hatch tennis event in January of 2023, The Teen Ambassadors decided to expand their reach, adding pickleball and sand volleyball tournaments to create a series of events for 2024. Hit It for Hatch: Pickleball will take place at the new Maclellan Tennis Center at Chattanooga Christian School on November 16, 2024. Players can sign up with or without a partner (we can match you if you do not have one). Each 2-hour flight will include 90 minutes of timed matches in a round-robin style. Competitive players can sign up for the afternoon session which will include pool play leading to bracketed play to crown a winning team.
During and after treatment, the Austin Hatcher Foundation is here to provide comprehensive coordinated care and unique solutions for all members of a family facing childhood cancer. Services provide children and families with the tools to cope in the present and thrive in the future after childhood cancer. Whether it’s grief counseling, occupational therapy, a parents day out, sibling tutoring, family counseling, trauma therapy or a night of community with others who have been through a similar story, AHF is here for whatever a family may need along their journey and beyond.
