Holiday Story

"I’ve been most grateful and thankful for all the support, encouragement, and assistance from all my support workers, and colleagues. I have attended each and every Christmas Luncheon at the Mississauga Convention Centre with my two sons.

I am ever so grateful and thankful to be able to attend such an amazing and wonderful event. The gracious food, gifts, and entertainment, and all the warm, kind and helpful volunteers make Christmas special for those who may be going through difficult times. Without the help and support of all the volunteers this event wouldn’t be possible.

Personally for myself, without this special event, Christmas wouldn’t be the same. I thank each and every one of you who make this event possible each and every year."

Let's share the joy of the holidays to
all vulnerable children in Peel

Peel Children's Aid Foundation's Holiday Wishes Program brings holiday joy to vulnerable children, youth, and families involved with Peel Children's Aid Society. Due to Covid-19 our families continue to be overwhelmed with challenges such as poverty, unemployment, ill health, domestic violence, mental health issues, or caring for a child who has serious physical, emotional, or developmental difficulties. Peel Children's Aid Society is an essential service and for children, youth, and families struggling to survive the effects are far reaching.

Here's how you can help to meet the 50% increase in emergency requests this holiday season:

Give financially
Donate gift cards or gifts in-kind
Host an in-person or virtual Angel Tree to collect gifts in-kind
Sponsor a holiday meal for families to enjoy on December 25

Our families' wishes for gifts in-kind include:

Walmart gift cards in $25 increments
Grocery gift cards in $25 increments from Metro, Sobeys and Loblaws
Outdoor winter clothing for infants, children and youth
Toiletries
Black skincare and hair products
Baby supplies
Toys and board games

#WeAreTheHelpers

Your decision to generously donate to Peel Children’s Aid Foundation’s Holiday Wishes Program supports children, youth and families twelve months a year. We are reminded of a famous quote from Mr. Rogers during these times. “When I was a boy and I would see scary things in the news, my mother would say to me, “look for the helpers. You will always find people who are helping”. - Mister Rogers

Help us be "the helpers" as we strive to raise $150,000 to support children, youth, and families this holiday season.
