About Hope Starts Here 2022

If you have experienced a death to suicide, the Saturday before Thanksgiving is recognized as International Survivors of Suicide Loss Day and is a day to support those who have been impacted by suicide. We invite you to join us for our Annual Hope Starts Here event, on Saturday, November 19th at Bavarian Inn Lodge in Frankenmuth.

This event will allow you to join others who have lost a loved one to suicide, hear how they survived, and know that you don’t have to walk alone. We will have guest speaker Gwen Kapcia speaking about “Reestablishing connections after loss.” Barb Smith will facilitate a panel of survivors who have lost loved ones to suicide as they share their journey of challenges and triumphs, participate in an art project, enjoy a traditional chicken luncheon, learn about local resources and the community that cares for you. There will also be time to connect with others who have walked a journey that no one ever wanted to travel.

We strongly encourage pre-registration as it allows us to plan for the appropriate amount of food and materials (minimal registration fee of $20 per person).

Please contact us at barb.smith@srrn.net or at 989-781-5260 with any questions. We look forward to seeing you soon!
