About Southern Alberta Hope for a Cure Run/Walk

Come join volunteers, walkers, runners, and cheerleaders as the Southern Alberta Chapter of the Huntington Society of Canada celebrates our 14th Annual Hope for a Cure Run & Walk – FAMILY REUNION in Calgary! Our HD Family will be gathering in person for the first time since 2019 and we can’t wait to see you all!

Our event will be hosted in the beautiful Bowness Park with a huge playground, activities, and games for the whole family, and a silent auction/raffle table including 2 tickets with Air Canada to fly anywhere in North America. Bring your friends and family!! If you are unable to join us in person, no worries, you are more than welcome to join us virtually!

Location: Site #3, Bowness Park, Calgary AB

Time:   

  • Registration - 9:00 - 10:00 a.m.
  • Kids races: 10:15 a.m.
  • 5km Walk/Run & 10km Run - 10:30 a.m.
  • BBQ: 11:30 a.m.
  • Raffle winners and Announcements: 12:00 – 2:30 p.m.

  • Our goal this year is to have more people than ever raise over $100!! To help us reach this goal, we are offering a FREE REGISTRATION to anyone who donates over $100 AND an entry to win $500 cash.

    Please register by May 16th to guarantee the correct t-shirt size and availability. Due to ongoing supply chain issues we will have to process our order early this year.

    • Run/Walk Early bird Registration (March 15 - May 15) - $25
    • Run/Walk Regular Registration (May 16 - June 11) - $35
    • Hope for a Cure Cheerleader - (March 15 - May 15) - $20
    • Hope for a Cure Cheerleader- (May 16 - June 11) - $25
    • Hope for a Cure Kids Registration - $20

    *Includes a 14th Annual Hope for a Cure Run & Walk T-shirt and Lunch.

    *Cheerleader: Join us as a Hope for a Cure Cheerleader and cheer-on all of the runners and walkers. You can join us for lunch AND get your very own t-shirt. (Please note that registration is not required if you just want to join us for lunch.)

    Everyone who raises over $100 will earn entries to win a $500 cash prize

    $100 – Entry to win $500 cash prize

    $250  – Hope for a Cure Tumbler and 2 Entries to win $500 cash prize

    $500  –  Hope for a Cure Hat, and 3 Entries to win $500 cash prize

    $750 – Hope for a Cure Hat & Tumbler and 4 Entries to win $500 cash prize

    $1000 – Hope for a Cure Backpack and 5 Entries to win $500 cash prize

    PLUS: Prizes for top fundraising teams!

    *To be included in consideration for Top Fundraiser prizes, all fundraising (cash, cheque and online) must be received by Thursday June 9th at 8:30 p.m. Funds received after this time will not be included in the tally for these prizes.
