Huntington's Disease (HD) is a rare genetic disorder that causes the progressive breakdown of cells in the brain, affecting a person’s movement, cognitive function, and emotional regulation. Over time, it can negatively impact one’s independence, career, income, mental well-being, and more. The genetic nature of HD means that every child of an affected parent has a 50% chance of inheriting the mutated HTT gene. It does not skip generations, there is no cure, and that reality is something thousands of families live with. 🍁
That’s why I’m fundraising - to support those living with HD, raise awareness, and fund research to improve treatments and ultimately, find a cure
