iMove for United Way

Get moving for mental health!​

​​Welcome to iMove for United Way, our annual, totally virtual fundraising event that focuses on the importance of physical activity and mental health. 

Being active has many physical, social, and emotional benefits that all play an important role in the prevention and treatment of mental health issues for children and youth. By participating in iMove for United Way, you are not only supporting your own mental health, you're helping young people in Windsor-Essex County access mental health and wellness supports they couldn't otherwise afford.

Register now! Get up, get moving, and challenge yourself and others to move for 200 minutes. Whether you run, walk your dog, do yoga moves or dance in your living room we want you go get moving and raise needed funds for youth mental health.

An estimated 1.2 million children and youth in Canada are affected by mental illness - yet, only 1 in 5 children who need mental health services receives them.

COVID-19 has – and will continue to have – an unprecedented impact on youth mental health. Many young people are navigating unemployment, sudden changes to their social lives and daily routines, access to education, resources, and basic needs like food. United Way wants make sure young people can continue to receive vital supports including preventative mental health and well-being programming, and timely access to mental health counselling.

These types of supports are delivered through United Way’s On Track to Success, mentoring, out-of-school supports and family counselling programs. All these programs have adapted their services to support children and youth ages 7-25 during COVID-19. Your donation stays 100% local.

Individuals participating in iMove for United Way must view the current social distancing and gathering protocols as outlined by the Health Unit, the Government of Canada and Government of Ontario Health & Safety Guidelines in place during COVID-19.
