Success isn't about what you accomplish in life, it's what you inspire others to do!

Thank you for visiting my page and being open to giving to my campaign. TWO DAYS LEFT! Help me finish STRONG!

There are hundreds of thousands of women and girls living in Atlanta – nearly a quarter of them are living below the poverty line. As the only public foundation in the state of Georgia solely dedicated to women and girls, The Atlanta Women’s Foundation (AWF) is uniquely positioned to address the barriers that women in poverty face - barriers like access to childcare, higher education opportunities, and mental health services.  A new study links cash gifts to moms to increased brain activity in babies.  Let's read that back...

"The researchers found that infants whose mothers received $333 per month “had more high-frequency brain activity” — a sign of better language development and brain development — compared with infants whose mothers received $20 per month."

This type of program, giving women cash to spend in the ways that they know are most beneficial for themselves and their families, is one of the types of programs AWF has been supporting for years. We need more of this - more equitable distribution of resources ($$!) across our communities!

I am fundraising on behalf of the AWF to fulfill its mission to be a catalyst for change in the lives of women and girls. I hope that you AWF and their grantee partners strive to create pathways from poverty to prosperity for their clients on a daily basis, for thousands of women. The economic impact of the COVID-19 pandemic is disproportionately impacting women and girls, and that it why I chose to make an impact right now – right here in our community.
