I am honored to support the Atlanta Women’s Foundation (AWF) in their mission to uplift women and girls facing poverty. As a mother, ensuring the well-being of my children has become central to my identity. But I recognize how fortunate I am to provide a safe home and meals for my children—something many women struggle to do every day.

My Why

When my oldest son was very young, we faced unforeseen medical needs that cost thousands of dollars. Throughout countless hospital visits and specialist appointments, I never had to worry about paying for his care, whether my job would allow me time off, or how I would cover rent that month. I had a safety net. But for 17% of women in metro Atlanta living below the poverty line, that safety net doesn’t exist.

Take Asia Walton, for example. When an unexpected death in her family struck, she was forced to make impossible choices to support herself and her son—ultimately leading them into homelessness. With less than 2% of total charitable donations in the U.S. directed toward women’s needs, AWF’s commitment to increasing support is crucial.
