About In Their Shoes Annual Fundraiser

2026 In Their Shoes Annual Fundraiser

Located in the heart of downtown Atlanta, the Central Outreach and Advocacy Center has spent over 28 years walking alongside our neighbors who are experiencing or at risk of homelessness. Our mission is simple yet transformative: to open doors that help overcome and prevent homelessness.

Thanks to the generosity of our supporters, thousands of individuals have received the support they need to move forward. Whether through job readiness training, help securing a valid state ID, or access to essential resources, we strive to provide wraparound services that truly change the trajectory of our guests’ lives.

This spring, we invite you to take a meaningful step alongside our guests and join us as a participant in In Their Shoes. This two-mile walk around COAC will offer a powerful, family-friendly way to experience the challenges our neighbors face while raising vital funds for their path forward.

What is in Their Shoes?

This two-mile walk around COAC offers a powerful, family-friendly way to experience the challenges our neighbors face while raising vital funds for their path forward. Led by the dedicated staff of the Central Outreach and Advocacy Center, the walk guides participants through meaningful stops along the route—including a visit to the nearby Department of Driver Services, where so many of our guests begin their journey toward stability by securing a state ID or driver’s license. Together, we’ll step through the realities our neighbors navigate each day and learn how essential services, advocacy, and community support open doors to hope and opportunity.
