2024 TCS New York City Marathon - Jay Fund Team supporting The Tom Coughlin Jay Fund

Running for my Marjorie, Ava Jones, Lucy Donmoyer, and all children and families impacted by childhood cancer.
May 27, 2015. "Your daughter has cancer."
At just 7-months old, Marjorie was diagnosed with neuroblastoma. Following her diagnosis we spent a month at Wolfson Hospital, including a week in the PICU while we waited for the chemo to shrink her tumors. Cancer shook our world and tossed us into a new normal we never planned for. I stayed by Marjorie's bedside while my husband remained home with our son, Manning. Friends, family, and strangers across the country supported us as our brave girl fought for her life.
Days after Marjorie's diagnosis, we received a backpack from the Tom Coughlin Jay Fund. I immediately wanted to throw it back at the kind Nemour's nurse. I was so angry my child had cancer. I did not want the backpack or anything to do with cancer. Years later the backpack later became a symbol of gratitude for the people who helped us in our journey to beat cancer.
Today, Marjorie is now a healthy and sassy 9-year old who loves dancing, sleepovers, and sushi. Every day is a gift we cherish. When we were inpatient at Wolfson Hospital receiving chemotherapy, I rocked my Marjorie and made a silent promise - to pay it forward. Despite the difficult journey, our prognosis was good. In 2023, we lost two incredible children to cancer. Ava Jones and Lucy Donmoyer touched my heart in a way I can't describe. Their brave fight and their families perseverance were nothing short of inspiring. It is their courage that has led me back into the cancer world to help pay it forward.
I am running not only to raise funds for this incredible organization, but to raise awareness for the mental toll cancer takes on a family. Running for the Tom Coughlin Jay Fund feels like a full circle moment - from the mom paralyzed with PTSD and fear to a mother of a healthy child that has worked hard to create a new normal after cancer. Life after cancer is possible and The Jay Fund makes it possible.
Any donation makes a difference for families fighting childhood cancer!
