In response to COVID-19, earlier this summer several longtime donors pledged to match up to $350,000 in donations made to our Emergency Family Care Fund. And our community responded! The campaign has so far raised more than $700,000 to help us navigate the pandemic and fund services for families in need.  Based on this incredible response, two of our donors have made additional gifts totaling $41,000 to serve as matching funds. Thanks to the great generosity shown for our Ronald McDonald House families, all matching funds have now been allocated. We are immensely grateful to these longtime friends for their generosity and leadership in creating the Emergency Family Care Fund match.

For forty years, families with hospitalized children have found a "home away from home" at San Diego's Ronald McDonald House. Our 56-room House and Family Care Center typically houses 1,000 families a year and offers day services to an additional 12,000 people with meals, showers, napping rooms, and more.

Throughout COVID-19, we've accommodated families with the most urgent need, providing lodging, meals, and educational activities. We've adapted meal service so that families not staying with us may pick up meals at our front door during their child's hospitalization. We have put in place rigorous protocols to ensure the health and safety of families and their medically fragile children, and we have a comprehensive four-phase plan for expanding programs according to the progress of COVID-19.
