About Kicks for Kids 2023

The Blast Kickboxing is supporting the need for more mentors for youth right here in Dane County. Over the last few years, the fallout from the pandemic has disproportionately impacted the youth in our program but research shows that when a child is given a mentor, particularly in times of crisis, their lives change for the better. right now in Dane County we have nearly 200 kids on our waitlist looking for a mentor. Every dollar raised through Kicks for Kids will fund the effort to recruit more mentors and cut the waitlist in half.

About this Fundraiser

The Blast Kickboxing is supporting Big Brothers Big Sisters this fall by raising money to recruit more mentors for the kids on the waitlist. Each dollar raised equals one kick. On December 16, The Blast Muay Thai members and staff will come together for a "kick-a-thon" event doing one kick per dollar raised. The goal is to raise $10,000 and have the team do 10,000 kicks!

Big Brothers Big Sisters -- Our Work

Big Brothers Big Sisters of Dane County

Since 1966, Big Brothers Big Sisters of Dane County has operated under the belief that inherent in every child is the ability to succeed and thrive in life. But too many youth are growing up without access to positive, adult role models to ignite their potential. Big Brothers Big Sisters fills that gap by providing one-to-one, long-term, and consistent mentoring Matches between adult volunteers (“Bigs”) and children (“Littles”), ages 6 through 18, in our Dane County community. We develop positive relationships that have a direct and lasting effect on the lives of young people.

We use evidence-based practices that have been refined and strengthened over 50 years of operation locally, and 100 years nationally. By tracking the length and strength of our Matches and conduction our annual Youth Outcomes Survey, we know that Littles who participate in our program demonstrate increased educational success, engage in fewer risky behaviors, and have greater socio-emotional competency.
