Junior League of Chicago’s Little Black Dress Initiative supporting Junior League of Chicago

Join me and JLC as we illustrate and bring awareness to the restrictions poverty places on choices, opportunities, and access to resources.
The iconic Little Black Dress (LBD) is thought of as a wardrobe staple, great for a business meeting or a night out on the town. The Little Black Dress Initiative seeks to take this well-known outfit and, coupled with the support of women around the world, raise awareness and funds for critical issues impacting communities.
In partnership with the Junior League of Chicago, I’ll wear the same LBD five days in a row to raise awareness and funds for an important Chicagoland issue: human trafficking. Between 16 and 25 thousand women and girls are trafficked in Chicago annually, with one-third of them first getting trafficked by the age of 15.
These numbers are staggering, but there are things we can do today to make a positive impact. Throughout the week, I will join other LBDI Champions to:
1. Raise awareness of human trafficking in Chicago and beyond
2. Illustrate how limited resources affect daily life and contribute to revictimization
3. Raise funds to support the JLC’s work with organizations across Chicagoland to support the community effort against human trafficking, as well as other programs that serve women and children in the community.
The JLC’s goal is to raise $25,000. I’d like to ask for your support as we tackle this important issue. You can donate here on my personal fundraising page. If you’re not in a position to donate, please consider liking and sharing my posts. You can follow my Little Black Dress Initiative journey throughout the week on my social media platforms.
Thank you for your support!
Still cannot believe @juniorleaguechi ‘s annual Summer Soiree is over!! My team worked SO hard to pull off such a beautiful event raising funds for the JLC’s Community Projects. So proud and honored to have been a part of something so special.
A HUGE thank-you to the sponsors and partners who helped make the evening such a success! #JLChicago
